How it works
- Choose the imagesOne or several, from your phone or computer.
- Choose the level“Balanced” works for almost everything. “Maximum” shrinks even more.
- DownloadA single image downloads directly; several come in a ZIP. We show you how much they weighed and how much they weigh now.
Why compress a photo
Photos from a current phone weigh between 3 and 10 MB, and many forms accept files of up to 1 or 2 MB. Compressing the image reduces its size so you can upload it without problems, without a visible difference when viewing it on screen.
The tool does two things: it resizes giant photos to a reasonable size and saves them again with more efficient compression. With phone photos it is common to cut 70% to 90% of the size.
Which level to choose
Balanced is the best option for forms, emails and WhatsApp. High quality shrinks less, designed for printing. Maximum goes for the smallest possible size when a form is very strict.
JPG photos stay JPG. PNG files without transparency are converted to JPG, which is much smaller; if they have a transparent background, they stay PNG. iPhone photos (HEIC) are converted to JPG, which works everywhere. If an image was already optimized and cannot be shrunk without losing quality, we give you back the original.
Your images are not uploaded
Compression happens inside your browser. The photos do not go through any server and nobody else can see them.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the size drop?
With phone photos, 70% to 90% less is typical with the “Balanced” level.
Is the loss of quality noticeable?
With “Balanced” or “High quality”, it is practically unnoticeable on screen. “Maximum” may look a little less sharp when you zoom in.
Can I compress several photos at once?
Yes. Choose them all together and download them at the end in a ZIP, or one by one with each photo's button.
Does it work with iPhone photos?
Yes. HEIC photos are converted to compressed JPG, which can be uploaded to any form.
What happens with PNG images?
If they have no transparent parts, we convert them to JPG because it is much smaller. If they have a transparent background, they stay PNG.
Are my photos uploaded to the internet?
No. They are processed inside your browser and do not go through any server.
