How it works
- Pick the start dateFor example, the day you were notified or the day the event happened.
- Enter the daysChoose whether they are business days (no weekends or holidays) or calendar days (every day).
- Check the due dateWe show you the date, which holidays fall in between, and whether the last day falls on a non-business day.
Business days and calendar days: the difference
Calendar days count every day on the calendar, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Business days count only weekdays that are not holidays. A 10-business-day deadline can end two weeks later, or more if there are holidays in between.
In most procedures the deadline starts counting from the day after the notification or the event, and that is how this tool calculates it. For example, the law sets 40 calendar days to register a birth and 2 business days to register a death: you can see how they apply in our guides to birth paperwork and death paperwork.
2026 national holidays we take into account
1 January; 16 and 17 February (Carnival); 24 March; 2 and 3 April; 1 and 25 May; 15 June (Güemes, moved); 20 June; 9 July; 17 August; 12 October; 23 November (National Sovereignty Day, moved); 8 and 25 December. You can also count the tourist non-working days of 23 March, 10 July and 7 December as non-business days. Source: official holiday calendar.
Non-working days for religious holidays are not counted as non-business days because they only apply to people who observe them. If your procedure is provincial, choose your province to add its holidays: we include the holidays and non-working days set by law in Catamarca, Chubut, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Jujuy, La Rioja, Mendoza, Salta, San Luis, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Santiago del Estero, Tierra del Fuego and Tucumán, checked against each province's official laws and calendars. Municipal holidays are not included.
Frequently asked questions
How are business days counted?
Only Monday to Friday days that are not holidays are counted, starting from the day after the start date.
What happens if the deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday?
For deadlines in calendar days, many procedures move the due date to the next business day. The calculator warns you when this happens and shows you that date, but confirm it with the agency.
Does it include 2026 holidays?
Yes, the official 2026 national holidays, including the ones that were moved. If the deadline reaches 2027, we count that year's holidays fixed by law and warn you that the movable ones have not been published yet.
Does it include provincial holidays?
You can choose your province to add its holidays. Fixed holidays set by law are included for 14 provinces, checked against official sources. The provinces that grant days off by decree each year (Chaco, Formosa, La Pampa, Misiones, Neuquén and Río Negro) are not included yet. Municipal holidays are not included.
Do non-working days count as business days?
By default we count tourist non-working days as non-business days. You can untick that option if your procedure treats them as business days.
Is it useful for court deadlines?
It works as a reference, but courts have their own non-business days (such as the judicial recess). For a court deadline, always check with your lawyer.
